The Fourth has been my favorite holiday for as long as I can remember. It’s just so laid-back and fun. Barbecues. Fireworks. Parades. Cold drinks. All my favorite things wrapped up in one day.
I’m headed out to barbecue and ride four wheelers in the country today, but before I head out I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite places and things about life in our great country…
Amazing old buildings like this one in the Flint Hills (Cotton Falls, Kansas.)
Hot summer nights in Kansas. I snapped this picture at the Flint Hills Rodeo in Strong City.
Baseball. I’m a Royals fan but went to my first Phillies game last year.
Football games and tailgating… two of my favorite things about fall.
The ocean. I took this one a few weeks ago in Sanibel Island, Florida.
Pieces of Americana. I have a well-documented obsession with Mason jars.
Old barns, like this old tobacco barn in Weston, Missouri.
The Eiffel Tower.
I took this one in Vegas.
So whatever you’re doing today to celebrate, I hope you have a happy Fourth!
