Weston Red Barn Farm

Have you ever found yourself suddenly single (by no fault or shortcoming of your own of course) and designated someone as your new default wedding date/fellow movie-goer/constant companion?  For me, that person is my sister.  Bless her heart, poor Margo is saving me from the life of a crazy cat lady.

Among the many activities I had planned for us was a day trip to Weston, Missouri to check out Weston Red Barn Farm.

I got a pumpkin from their pumpkin patch last fall and had always wanted to go back.

On the day we visited, the temperature was in the triple digits and we had sweat rolling down our backs, so we started in the air-conditioned country store.  Cindy, who owns Weston Red Barn Farm along with her husband Steve, chatted with us for a little while and explained how she tries to find local and unique products for the store.

They have jams and jellies, barbecue sauces, housewares, soaps… all kinds of things to look at while you’re hiding from the heat!

After buying a few things in the store, we were ready to go outside and brave the hot summer day.

Steve and Cindy have restored the buildings on the property, many of which are home to their farm animals: goats, chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, horses and even a mini horse.

The duck family enjoying a stroll.

An inquisitive goat checks out what Margo got from the country store.

Pretty horses.

Talk about a pretty setting – we seriously could’ve set up lawn chairs and stayed all day!

If you’ve ever in the area, check out Weston Red Barn Farm!  They also do weddings, hayrides and other events.  Here’s some info:
